Brian Kates
It frequently seems difficult to be physically and mentally healthy in the modern world. The most readily available food isn’t good for you. Many of us have sedentary jobs that condition our bodies for sitting versus moving. We stare at screens for too many hours. Spending the last 18 years in the finance space and launching five successful startups, Brian Kates understands the reality of being a working professional and its impact on our physical and mental well-being. Beyond the stationary working conditions, we are inundated by micro-stressors, from email to social media posts to a never-ending barrage of world crisis media coverage. Brian never wanted this to slow him down has been on a never-ending mission to challenge the status quo. From meditation to functional fitness to whole food plant-based diets, Brian has explored and researched how to be healthy, happy, and strong while being a successful working professional and an engaged, loving parent. Brian has a passion for sharing his learnings with others on the same path. While he doesn’t believe there is a silver bullet, the Wim Hof Method is the best tool that Brian has found in his never ending journey to becoming his best self. As a certified Wim Hof Method instructor, he’s excited to share this simple yet powerful practice with you.
Brian beyond breathing and ice baths:
Brian moved to Ireland in 2020 with his lovely wife, son, and dog.
He is a certified TACFIT (tactical fitness) instructor.
He loves distance running and obstacle course races, the muddier the better.
He loves playing guitar and singing, usually too loudly.
He geeks out building financial models.
He enjoys reading literature and his favorite authors are Salmon Rushdie and Haruki Murakami.
He moved to New Zealand for a year after graduate school just for the hiking.
He likes exploring and visiting new places with his wife.
